Although this is a cold glue group we encourage you to post pics, videos, questions, successes and failures. We are here to help! More to come. This is a simple repair I did today. I’ll take 20 of these a day. lol

In the beginning….

In the beginning, circa 2016, there was stickyicky tab tape.

For those who don’t know, I am the guy who first sold cold glue in the US and then beyond… I started cola fria .com in 2015. I sold the steel tab accessory with cold glue.

I then started stickyicky in 2016 and introduced tab tape with my then partner.

I had some health issues in 2021 that forced me to shut the door temporarily, or so I thought. It was a much longer break than I thought but I’m glad to be back. There’s a full blog post on this for those who are interested.

Hers’s tab tape in action in a post by Derek Reed in 2016.

How Did You Get Started in PDR?

How did you all get your start in PDR? Who trained you? Was it harder than you thought or did you pick it right up?

I started out in the auto body side. I was young, 16 years old when I started. I learned quicky that it was not what I wanted to do but at the time I had no other options. Then I learned about PDR, I think it was in 1995. I saw PDR techs come in and leave 5 min later making in that time what I'd make in a day. Training was expensive and limited or there was dent wizard, but you had to work there for 5 years and sign a non compete.

I kept on working in shops until the internet got really popular. Then around 2005 or so, through a google search, I learned about Tim Olsen's training videos. I immediately purchase…

That's me about circa 2016ish fixing a ding on a Fiat 500 Abarth. the customer was nice enough to take some awesome pics.

Ding and Dent warranty

I’ve been working with 2 companies who consistently send me dent work. In the past they would tell me what they were paying but for the past 2 years they’ve been asking me to quote the dent and they pay on my quote. For anyone who’s interested the 2 companies are Vehicle administrative Services (VAS) and noblis. It’s easy work. Definitely worth it to look into them.
