I’ve been seeing a lot of people unsure how to remove the stubborn cold glue residue these high performance cold glues leave. There’s a product called right off adhesive remover or rapid remover if you want to use Amazon. Also, hand compound the dent before pulling. It makes it easier to remove the residue. Watch the video and see how easy it formed off.
I’ll post a video up but here are some tips for successful cold glue pulls.
Clean the panel well. Start off with rubbing compound. It’ll make it easier the clean the cold glue residue off and help the glue grab. Then use rubbing alcohol to make sure it’s free of wax, silicone etc.
Flash heat the ding/dent. This is why I call it hybrid glue. It’s not hot, it’s not cold. It’s inbetween. The heat really allows it to grab hard. Not too hot, just warm. 80-85 degrees seems to be the sweet spot.
Quick flash the glue.
Roll the cold glue into the dent in a circular motion for a 2 seconds and pull.
Rinse and repeat. P.S: The bigger the tab the bigger the grab, but small tabs can still pull. It all depends on the prep and the cold glue being used. Also, just like ho…
In order to remove the residue from the premium gold cold glue you need to use an adhesive remover. I use a product called right off. @Herb Vogt recommended Rapid remover to me. I've yet to try that one. Here are the links to each one. FYI, Rubbing alcohol will not work.
Yeah, I’m sure they all work pretty much the same. I like the idea that you can buy the rapid remover in a smaller bottle at a cheaper price they don’t sell the right off in a small bottle..
Can’t believe all I can do on the hail side with these cold glues. Just gotta figure the right glue that matches the ambient temperature.

This is the video follow up to my post from last night. I used the quick snap slide hammer with 15 and 18 mm tabs. I started with the hybrid cold glue and then switched off to the premium gold. @Everyone
The video was cut short. My phone is apparently out of storage. Time to delete some stuff. Any questions, please ask.
